Ricardo Ferretti

Ricardo Ferretti ( born February 22, 1954 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Brazilian football coach and former player, who has worked exclusively in the land of the Aztecs since his move to Mexico in the summer of 1977.

Biography

As a player

Also known by the nickname El Tuca Ferretti Ricardo began his career as a professional football player in 1971 with his hometown club Botafogo FR, for which he was for four years. For the 1975/76 season he moved to city rivals CR Vasco da Gama, prior to signing on at also based in Rio de Janeiro Bonsucesso FC 1976/77.

Then led him the way to Mexico, where Ferretti was initially a season (1977 /78) when CF Atlas and most of the time at the UNAM Pumas under contract.

As a coach

After 1991 ended his active playing career in the service of UNAM Pumas, Ferretti took over at the same club the office of the head coach, but had recorded no significant achievements in those five years. This changed with his move to Guadalajara, where he won the championship after a year and a half years later pushed forward into the championship finals. In the summer of 2000, El Tuca Ferretti moved to Monterrey and coached the Tigres, with whom he also reached the finals in the winter of 2001. Since 2006 he is again for the Pumas de la UNAM in use. After his third runner-up in the Apertura 2007 he won with Pumas his second title in Mexico in the Clausura 2009.

On June 29, 1993 Ricardo Ferretti oversaw the Mexican national soccer team in a friendly match against Costa Rica, which was won 2-0.
