Ricardo Sousa

Ricardo André do Pinho Sousa ( born January 11, 1979 in São João da Madeira ) is a Portuguese football player.

Ricardo Sousa joined the 2006/07 season from Bundesliga club Hannover 96 on loan to Boavista. Previously, he played one season at Boavista Porto and scored fifteen goals. 2007 until 2008 under contract with Hannover 96 has been resolved. He then moved to Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus.

Sousa plays as an attacking midfielder, where he was to replace the long-vanished January Simak. He succeeded not convincing and soon was heard in Hanover from 700,000 euros -flop. During the winter break, he was then awarded to the Dutch club De Graafschap Doetinchem for half a year. Then he came back to Hannover 96. There he was again only a reserve player under coach Ewald Lienen. Only under Lienen's successor, Peter Neururer Sousa played more frequently and also showed good performance.

He now plays in the Portuguese Liga de Horna at the club SC Beira -Mar.

Football matches has learned from his father, Antonio Sousa, who with FC Porto won the Champions League 1987 Ricardo Sousa. Although Ricardo Sousa went through the youth school of FC Porto, but could not prevail there.
