Richard Ayoade

Richard Ayoade ( born June 12, 1977 in London ) is an English stand- up comedian, actor and director.

Life

Ayoades father is from Nigeria and his mother from Norway. He went in Ipswich, Suffolk to school and later studied law at the St Catharine 's College, Cambridge, where he became president of the local theater club Footlights.

Together with Matthew Holness Ayoade wrote Garth Marenghi 's the show Fright Knight, in which he also appeared in 2000. He received a Perrier Comedy Award as co-writer and performer in the following show to Fright Night, Garth Marenghi 's Netherhead. For 2004, Ayoade and Holness, the main character in the parody of Garth Marenghi 's Darkplace on TV to Channel 4, where Ayoade also starred. Ayoades figure from Dark Place ( Dean Learner ) was established in 2006 for the comedy talk show Man to Man with Dean Learner (Channel 4). The different guests were played by Holness.

Ayoade was co- writer, director and actor in AD / BC: A Rock Opera ( rock opera, in 2004, BBC Three).

In 2005, he played Ned in Smanks Nathan Barley ( sitcom, Channel 4 ).

Larger awareness, even beyond the UK, gained Ayoade for his role in the comedy series The IT Crowd, were shot by the four seasons and aired in Germany and Austria on Comedy Central. There he plays Maurice Moss, who is brilliant in dealing with technology, but socially underdeveloped.

He was director of the video for the song Fluorescent Adolescent, Crying Lightning and Cornerstone of the Arctic Monkeys and the songs Run Away and My Mistakes Were Made For You Super Furry Animals. He also took over the Director of the videos for the songs Standing Next To Me and My Mistakes Were Made For You the group The Last Shadow Puppets, Oxford Comma and Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa by Vampire Weekend, Vlad the Impaler by Kasabian ( Noel Fielding ) and Heads Will Roll by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

2008 Ayoade was nominated as " Best Director" at the UK Music Video Awards. In 2009 he won the NME Award.

His debut as a film director Richard Ayoade celebrated in 2010 with the dramedy Submarine. In addition, he directed the 19th episode of the second season (Critical Film Studies ) of the U.S. sitcom Community. In the fall of 2012, he was with Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill in the movie The Watch - to see neighbors of the third kind.
