Richard Charles Patrick Hanifen

Richard Charles Patrick Hanif ( born June 15, 1931 in Denver) is retired bishop of Colorado Springs.

Life

Richard Charles Patrick Hanif received on 16 June 1951, the ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Denver.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on July 6, 1974 in Denver Auxiliary Bishop and Titular Bishop of Abercornia. The Archbishop of Denver, James Vincent Casey, donated to him on September 20th of that year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were George Roche Evans, Auxiliary Bishop of Denver, and Charles Albert Buswell, Bishop of Pueblo.

On November 10, 1983, he was appointed Bishop of Colorado Springs and introduced into the office on January 30 of next year. From his office he resigned on 30 January 2003.
