Richard Dempsey

Richard Dempsey ( born May 16, 1974 in Hertfordshire, England ) is an English stage and film actor.

Biography

Richard Dempsey played his first role at the age of 14 years as Peter Pevensie, one of the main roles of the first BBC adaptation of the Chronicles of Narnia from the year 1988. At the age of 17 he stood for the first time on the stage as Jack in the London production the award-winning musical by Stephen Sondheim Into the woods. He also played the role of Nick Piazza in the famous West End musical fame in the years 1995/96 and the Ugly Duckling Ugly in the musical Honk!. Since the 90s he has many roles in film, television and on stage embodies (eg with the Royal Shakespeare Company). In 2007 he played the Neil Kellerman in the stage adaptation of the film Dirty Dancing by Eleanor Bergstein in the Aldwych Theatre in London's West End. In this year, he starred in the play Chatroom / Citizenship, which has performed on various stages in England and Wales and was performed of 20 November 2007 to 2 January 2008 at London's National Theatre. After Dempsey has participated in a workshop for the new musical Up The Junction, based on the songs of the band Squeeze, and was developed by the Really Useful Group, he is currently with the play The One Hour Dream, directed by Edward Hall on tour.

Richard Dempsey's voice can be heard on the original recordings of the musical Into the woods, Fame, Honk, Just so and Dirty Dancing! ; also on the CD Weird and Wonderful by Alexander S. Bermange.
