Richard F. McKiniry

Richard Francis McKiniry ( born March 23, 1878 in New York City; † May 30, 1950 in Yonkers, New York) was an American lawyer and politician. Between 1919 and 1921 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Richard Francis McKiniry attended public schools. He graduated from the College of St. Francis Xavier in New York City and the New York Law School. After receiving his license to practice law in 1899, he began practicing in New York City. Between 1914 and 1917 he was a deputy district attorney in Bronx County and 1917-1919 Secretary at the New York Supreme Court for the first district. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 1918, for the 66th Congress McKiniry was the 23rd electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Daniel C. Oliver on March 4, 1919. In 1920 he suffered in his renewed candidacy a defeat and then retired after March 3, 1921 the Congress of.

On January 1, 1923, he was appointed magistrate of New York City - a post he held until his retirement for health reasons on 15 August 1943. He died on 30 May 1950 in Yonkers and was then buried in the Calvary Cemetery in Long Iceland City.
