Richard Hibbard

Richard Hibbard ( born December 13, 1983 in Neath, Neath Port Talbot ) is a Welsh rugby union player. He plays as a hooker for the Welsh national team and the Ospreys.

Hibbard began his career as a teenager at Aberavon RFC before moving to Swansea in 2002. In 2004 he was part of the Ospreys, in December of that year he came to his first race in the Magners League against Munster. In summer 2006 they nominated him for the summer tour of the Welsh national team, where he played against Argentina, his first two matches. Due to a shoulder surgery he was able to star in the season 2006/ 07 in just four games, he was still employed in the pre-season games for the World Cup. For the actual tournament, he was, however, not taken into account. In the following years he was only sporadic applications, such as in the summer of 2008 against the reigning world champions South Africa.
