Richard Joseph Malone

Richard Joseph Malone ( born March 19, 1946 in Salem) is an American clergyman and Bishop of Buffalo.

Life

The Archbishop of Boston, Humberto Sousa Medeiros, ordained him a priest on 20 May 1972.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 27 January 2000 as Auxiliary Bishop of Boston and Titular Bishop of Aptuca. The Archbishop of Boston, Bernard Francis Cardinal Law, donated to him on 1 March of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops in Boston, William Francis Murphy and John Patrick Boles.

On 10 February 2004 he was appointed Bishop of Portland and introduced into the office on 31 March of that year. On 29 May 2012, he was appointed Bishop of Buffalo and introduced into the office on 10 August of the same year.
