Richard Loncraine

Richard Loncraine ( born October 20, 1946 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England ) is a British film director and occasional screenwriter.

Life and work

His debut as a director was Richard Loncraine with the short film Wonderful Radio in 1974. Previously, he worked for the BBC and later turned commercials. Also in 1974 he wrote his first screenplay, it was the film Professor Popper's Problem. Over the next decades, he also worked for television as uch the cinema. For his film adaptation of Shakespeare 's Richard III. of 1995 Loncraine was awarded the Silver Bear. In 2002 he received an Emmy for the miniseries Band of Brothers - Band of Brothers.
