Richard Lyon-Dalberg-Acton, 2nd Baron Acton

Richard Maximilian Lyon- Dalberg - Acton, 2nd Baron Acton, KCVO (* August 7, 1870, † June 16, 1924 ) was a British peer and diplomat.

Life and career

Lyon- Dalberg - Acton led originally named Dalberg - Acton. He studied at Magdalen College, University of Oxford and joined the Foreign Office in 1894 and grew up there in senior positions. He inherited the title of Baron Acton in 1902 after the death of his father.

Two years later he married Dorothy Lyon, with whom he had nine children. It was not until 1911 he was naturalized by Act of Parliament, by this time he was not a British citizen, despite its diverse diplomatic tasks. His last name he changed in 1919 with royal permission in Lyon - Dalberg - Acton.

Between 1905 and 1915, Lyon- Dalberg - Acton, Lord -in- Waiting to the British court. He worked for many years as chargé d'affaires, including in Bern from 1904 to 1906 and in Madrid from 1906 until 1907. 1917/18 he was consul general in Zurich. His last post led him 1919/20, as ambassador to Finland.

Lyon- Dalberg - Acton died in 1924. His titles went to the eldest son.
