Richard Reid Rogers

Richard Reid Rogers ( * 1868, † November 10, 1949 ) was an American jurist. In 1906 and 1907 he was military governor of the Panama Canal Zone.

Career

Richard Rogers was a prominent lawyer who specialized in transit rights. He was verheiretet with Eunice Tomlin. Their daughter later married into the German royal house of Hesse.

Rogers attended Princeton University until 1886. He then studied at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville Jura. He was legal adviser of the Isthmian Canal Commission and the Panama Railroad Company. In 1906, the Office of the Governor of the Panama Canal Zone was temporarily abolished. The function was largely transferred to the Isthmian Canal advisor to the Commission. It was in this case, Richard Rogers, who held this office until 1907. He led the necessary shops of Washington DC and was not present on location in Panama.
