Richard Schlesinger (tennis)

Richard Emil "Bob" Schlesinger ( born September 23, 1900 in Melbourne, † unknown) was an Australian tennis player. His greatest successes were the runners-up in 1924 and 1929 in single and in 1925 at what is now known as the Australian Open in mixed doubles tournament.

Between 1924 and 1933, Schlesinger took part in the Australasian championships (up to 1926), respectively, Australian championships (from 1927). In individual he reached the finals in 1924 and 1929 and divorced in 1925, 1926 and 1928 from the semi-finals. His greatest successes were in double the semi-finals in 1926, 1927 and 1929; in the mixed competition, he moved in 1925 with his partner Sylvia Lance Harper to the final. In addition, Schlesinger took part in the 1923 and 1924 individual competition of the U.S. National Championships, where he did not it past each of the round of 64.

In July 1923 Schlesinger played a match for the Davis Cup team in Australia, which he lost to the Hawaiians William Eklund.

Schlesinger Mixed partners were J. Hope ( 1924), Sylvia Lance Harper ( 1925), Katherine Le Mesurier (1926) and Meryl O'Hara Wood ( 1933).
