Richard Wallace (director)

Richard Wallace ( born August 26, 1894 in Sacramento, California, † November 3, 1951 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American screenwriter, film director and film producer.

Life and work

His career as a director began Richard Wallace in the mid 1920s. He directed several short comedies for which he served in part as a screenwriter. In 1926, he turned with Syncopating Sue his first feature film. By the end of the 1940s he was a busy director. He made ​​several films with actress Shirley Temple, including the 1949 incurred Adventure in Baltimore, as well as The Little Minister an early film of actress Katharine Hepburn from the year 1934. In 1947 came with Tycoon a literary adaptation with John Wayne in the lead role. Wallace's best-known film was made in the same year: Sinbad the Sailor.
