Richie Ramone

Richard Reinhardt ( Beau ) ( born August 11, 1957), also known as Richie Ramone, is an American drummer. From 1983 to 1987 he served under this pseudonym drummer of the punk band the Ramones. He jumped Marky Ramone for 1983, which was dismissed for alcohol problems in the band.

Career with the Ramones

Richie Ramone played a little harder and faster drumming style than its two predecessors Marky and Tommy Ramone. At the beginning of his membership in the band but he found it in his own words not easy to keep pace with the tempo of the music. He was involved as a drummer at the Ramones albums Too Tough To Die, Animal Boy Halfway to Sanity and as well as at about 400 live performances of the band. Richie Ramone wrote several songs for the Ramones, among Humankind and Somebody Put Something In My Drink (the latter allegedly after he accidentally drank a LSD -added drink), I Know Better Now and I'm not Jesus. Richie Ramone was only considered when two pieces of the Ramones as a singer. He sang the chorus of the piece Wart Hog and the almost unknown title Can not Say Anything Nice, which was only released as a B- side of a 1986 only appeared in Europe a single.

The relationship of the band to Richie Ramone was, according to guitarist Johnny Ramone of a purely commercial nature. Singer Joey Ramone and Richie, however, were also private friends. According to a statement by Joey Ramone Richie Ramone saved the cohesion of the band. In 2001, Richie was present in contrast to the other band members, Johnny, Marky and Dee Dee Ramone at Joey's funeral.

The Ramones had a secondary source of income in the 1980s with the sale of their band t -shirts. As a member of the band and also because his name appeared on T -shirts Richie Ramone demanded a quarter of the revenue. When this demand was rejected by the other, he left the band claims to voluntarily after a live performance on 12 August 1987, just before three already booked concerts of the band in New York City, which therefore had to be canceled.
