Rickenbach, Thurgau
Rickenbach is a municipality in the district of Münchwilen the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland.
The municipality has existed since January 1, 1998, when in the context of Thurgau municipality reform the local church Wilen bei Wil from the Munizipalgemeinde Rickenbach bei Wil separated and this was formed with the local municipality of the same name to the political community Rickenbach TG.
Geography
Rickenbach lies in the back of Thurgau and is a suburb of the city of Wil SG. The town offers many shops, since among other things the shop opening times in the canton of Thurgau in contrast to the neighboring Canton of St. Gallen are more liberal. On the other hand, benefited Rickenbach from the proximity to the city of Wil with its many opportunities and good transport links.
Traffic
Rickenbach benefits from its proximity to Wil from the local train station and from the connection to the motorway A1, which can be reached in a few minutes. Rickenbach lies on the Postbus Wil -Kirchberg - Gähwil. For several years there has been much less through traffic by Rickenbach, because the traffic was diverted somewhat by -pass road and traffic calming measures.
