Ridge-post framing

A Firstständerbau is a built in post and beam construction building with purlin.

The First Stand by pulling the building from the foundation or the top of a brick cellar or basement to the roof ridge. A free-standing inside the house stands is outdated also called first pillar. In a purlin First stand supports together with at least one other first stand the ridge board. Hanging to the sloping rafters, to which in turn the roof is fixed. This type of stand First houses were built primarily around the 15th century in the Baden region.
