Rien Kaashoek
Marinus Adriaan "Rien " Kaashoek ( born November 10, 1937 in Ridderkerk ) is a Dutch mathematician. He was a professor at the Free University of Amsterdam.
Kaashoek 1964 Adriaan Cornelis Zaanen doctorate at Leiden University. He was assistant from 1959 in Leiden and from 1966 lecturer at the Free University of Amsterdam, where he became professor in 1969.
He was a visiting professor at the University of Maryland, College Park (1975 ), at the University of Calgary ( 1987), Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (1987) and the University of Tel Aviv.
It deals with analysis and theory of operators, matrix theory and mathematical systems theory, for example, Wiener-Hopf integral equations, Toeplitz operators, operator analogies of Bezout and resultants matrices, completions and interpolation of operators, state -space methods in analysis.
His doctoral include Harm Bart and André Ran.
