Rigaudon
The rigaudon ( rarely also: Rigodon ) is an old French folk and ballroom dancing.
He went out in the 17th century from folk dances of Provence and Languedoc, and is a series and couple dance in the lively 2/4-, 4/4- or Alla breve clock with prevailing quarter and eighth movement, usually with a prelude of quarter starting.
As the court dance rigaudon place in 17-18. Century entrance to the ballet, opera and instrumental suite, where he is often inserted between Sarabande and Gigue. Close relations exist to Bourrée and Gavotte.
