Riigi Teataja

The Riigi Teataja ( German State Gazette ) is the official Journal of Laws of the Republic of Estonia.

History

Estonia declared its national independence from Russia on 24 February 1918. A day later, Tallinn was occupied by imperial German troops. Only with their surrender on 11 November 1918, the Estonian government was able to exercise state power in Estonia.

The first edition of Riigi Teataja appeared on 27 November 1918, the " Manifesto to all the peoples of Estonia " (Manifesto kõigile Eestimaa rahvastele ), which announced in Pärnu on February 23, 1918 Estonian independence manifesto.

Content

The Riigi Teataja is published by the Estonian State Chancellery. It is abbreviated with RT. He has five parts: Part I (I osa, laws in the material sense ), Part II (II osa, international agreements ), Part III ( decisions and judgments of the Constitutional Court ), Annex (Lisa, regulations and decisions ), Kohalike Omavalitsuste Õigusaktid ( acts of local self -governing bodies ).

Electronic Government Gazette

Since 1996, the Riigi Teataja is also published in electronic form, on 1 June 2002 on the Internet ( Elektrooniline Riigi Teataja ). 2006, the paper version has been completely abandoned. The publications in printed and electronic form texts enjoy the same legal value.

The database of the electronic Riigi Teataja allows free searching of the entire Estonian law. Through them, you can also clarify which version of the law has been considered at a given time.
