Rimi Natsukawa

Rimi Natsukawa (Japanese夏川 りみ, Rimi Natsukawa, born October 9, 1973 in Ishigaki, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, as Rimi Kaneku (兼久 りみ, Kaneku Rimi ) ), civil: Rimi Tamaki (玉木 りみ, Tamaki Rimi ) is a Japanese folk singer from the southern Japanese Ryukyu Islands.

Rimi Natsukawas repertoire ranges from the traditional Ryukyu Okinawan songs to English or Japanese songs; it mixes traditional ethnic elements of their home with modern musical elements. This mixture is famous in Japan highest popularity - her song Nada Soso was meanwhile several months on the third place in the Japanese iTunes list.

Her debut was in 1989 with the single Shihori the label Pony Canyon under the stage name Misato Hoshi (星 美 里, Misato Hoshi ).

Your 2005 released album Rimi Natsukawa Single Collection Vol 1 was awarded the 2006 Nihon Record Grand Prize.

Private

She married on 1 January 2009 the percussionist Masaaki Tamaki.
