Ringo 5.1: The Surround Sound Collection is the twenty-eighth album and the fifth compilation album by Ringo Starr after the breakup of the Beatles. It was released on March 4, 2008 in the USA. In Germany and the UK, the album did not appear. It could not place in the charts in the USA.

Genesis

In the recorded music company cook until the year 2008, the following five albums were released by Ringo Starr: The Anthology ... So Far, Ringo Rama, Tour 2003, Choose Love and Ringo Starr: Live at Soundstage. Koch chose from the two studio albums Ringo Rama and Choose Love put together a compilation album, with each album of six songs were selected. The album also includes a DVD that contains the same songs as the CD into a 5.1 mix. This mixture was prepared under the supervision of Ringo Starr by Bruce Sugar, which should also be the co-producer of the next studio album Y Not in the Sugar Sound Studios. The DVD contains the extra song I Really Love Her from the album Ringo Rama.

Ringo 5.1: The Surround Sound Collection is the sixth album, which was released by Koch.

The designer of the cover is not mentioned in the CD booklet.
