Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Volume 2: Live From Montreux is the fourteenth album, or second live album by Ringo Starr after the breakup of the Beatles. It was released on September 14, 1993 in the U.S.. In Germany and the UK, the album did not appear. It could not place in the charts in the U.S..

Genesis

After the release of the commercially unsuccessful album Time Takes Time in June 1992, Ringo Starr went back with his second All- Starr Band on U.S. tour. From June 2nd to June 28th 1992 was the All- Starr Band 20 concerts. This was followed by his first European tour with 17 concerts on 2 July to 23 July 1992.

On July 13, 1992 concert in Montreux ( Switzerland ) was recorded and released as a CD and live video.

Between 1 August and 6 September 1992, another U.S. tour followed with 25 appearances.

After the album's release the record deal in the U.S. was not renewed with the label Rykodisc.

Six of the 15 songs on the CD were sung by Ringo Starr.

The designer of the cover was Steven Jurgensmeyer. The cover photos were taken by Henry Diltz and of Kantanzaro & Mahdessian.

A publication in the LP format was not made.

On November 17, 1993, a VHS video cassette under the title Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Live From Montreux at the label MPI Home Video has been sold in the USA. In Japan, the concert was also sold on laser disc. A DVD release was not far.

Another concert on July 6, 1992 at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool was also recorded and broadcast on April 18, 1993 in United States on the Disney Channel in part.

For the purpose of promoting an American credit card company was an EP in the U.S. in 1995 published the following four songs: Yellow Submarine, It Do not Come Easy, Photograph and With a Little Help from My Friends. The first and fourth song is from the CD Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Volume 2: Live From Montreux, the second and third song from the CD Ringo Starr and His All- Starr Band.

Reissues

The CD release of 1993 has not yet been newly remastered.
