Rio de Mouro is a small town ( Vila ) in Portugal. It is immediately adjacent to the south in Algueirão -Mem Martins and has the status of a municipality ( Freguesia ) inside the circle ( Municipio ) of Sintra in the District of Lisbon. The 15 km north- west of Lisbon, the suburban community has a surface of 16.5 km ² and a population of 47 417 (as at 30 June 2011). The city rights were granted Rio de Mouro on July 2, 1993.

Worth seeing is mainly dating from the 16th century Igreja de Nossa Senhora de Belém and the museum Casa- Museu Leal da Câmara.
