Rio Grande Blood is the tenth studio album by American industrial metal band Ministry. It was released in the United States on 2 May 2006 and three days later, on May 5, in Europe. The following year, the associated remix album Rio Grande Dub Ya, also via 13th Planet Records was published.

Style

In Rio Grande Blood Ministry track continues the style that has already been taken on the previous album Houses of the Molé - combining fast thrash guitars, fast drums, distorted vocals and samples. The samples used are mainly to modified excerpts from speeches etc. of U.S. President George W. Bush.

Conception

Not only musically but also in content sets the album seamlessly to its predecessor. It is the second release of the band, after the aforementioned Houses of the Molé from 2004 and before the last Ministry studio release The Last Sucker from 2007, which intensively with the policy of the U.S. government under the presidency George W. Bush's dealing.

The title is a corruption of the ZZ Top album title Rio Grande Mud.

Reception

David Jeffries describes the album in his review for Allmusic as "second version of Houses of the Molé ", with the difference that Tommy Victor's influence can turn the album thrash thrown. Jeffries will award 3.5 of 5 possible points for the album.
