Río Segundo, Córdoba

Río Segundo is located in the center of the province of Córdoba, a city in central Argentina, 35 kilometers southeast of Córdoba in the department of Río Segundo. It lies on the north bank of the River Xanaes and has 18,155 inhabitants, together with the directly adjacent neighboring town of Pilar, there are 30 643.

History

The city was founded in 1883 as a result of built this year railway line and is now mainly an industrial center, especially in the agricultural products are processed.

Attractions

Río Segundo has the famous archaeological museum Aníbal Montes, in which several artifacts from the pre-colonial era are on display. These are Sanavirones culture ( Pampa plains east of Córdoba) and Comechingones culture ( from the Sierras de Córdoba). Furthermore, worth seeing are the chapel and the peanut factory dating from around 1900.
