Rirkrit Tiravanija

Rirkrit Tiravanija ( Thai: ฤกษ์ ฤทธิ์ ตีระ ว นิ ช, pronunciation: [ rɯk - rit tira - Wanit ]; * 1961 in Buenos Aires ) is an action or performance artists.

Rirkrit Tiravanija grew up in Thailand, studied in New York, Chicago, and in Banff and Toronto, Canada. He lives and works in Bangkok, Berlin and New York.

Rirkrit Tiravanija was known in the 1990s through actions for which he prepared a "mobile home" Thai meals in one and in galleries and museums serving the art audience. He tries to pass through temporary architecture and the use of everyday objects with the visitors in direct contact. An example is his 2010 issued in Neugerriemschneider in Berlin Peugeot titled Untitled 2010 ( All the Days on the highway).

Rirkrit Tiravanja founded in Thailand, a municipality that operates agriculturally and ecologically oriented.

Works

For the 2006/2007 season at the Vienna State Opera he designed as part of the museum designed in progress exhibition series " Iron Curtain " the big picture " Fear Eats the Soul ".
