Risaralda Department

The Departamento de Risaralda is a department in the center of Colombia. Clockwise from the north, the Departamento de Antioquia, Caldas, Tolima, Quindio, Valle del Cauca and Chocó lie.

The coffee dominates in agriculture, followed by sugar cane, bananas, cassava and maize. The industry has settled in Pereira and Dosquebradas. It will be produced and processed leather car accessories, building materials and textiles.

The two national parks of Los Nevados and Tatama lie partly in the field of Risaralda.

Administrative subdivision

The Departamento de Risaralda consists of 14 municipalities. The population figures are based on the census of DANE 2005.
