Hydrology

On July 30, 2012 Risle between Ajou La Houssaye and fell into a river sinkhole. You now runs 12 km long underground. The water of the Risle was inked in order to trace the course of the river can. The underground water increases the risk of creating further sink-holes. The stability of several bridges in the now dry section is compromised by the lack of water. This includes the bridge over the Risle in Grosley -sur -Risle. At a length of more than 10 kilometers, the entire flora and fauna of the river is destroyed.

In winter, the underground cavity, now (July 2013) enlarged but the change seems to have come to a standstill. On the river section between Ajou and La Houssaye total of 150 cubic meters of stone were placed in the Ponor on 15th and 19th of July. The cavity is not completely filled.
