Risto Jussilainen

Risto Kalevi Jussilainen ( born June 10, 1975 in Jyväskylä ) is a former Finnish ski jumper. He started for the club of his hometown, the Jyväskylä Hiihtoseura.

Career

Outside of the World Cup season, he coached in Jyväskylä Ski Club in Finland. In 1985, he contested his first ski jumping competitions, but still went to 1992 to a state school. During his school years he worked in the afternoon in an Intersport, its current sponsor, in his hometown, where he is still sometimes employed.

Risto Jussilainen 2005 won silver in the team large hill at the 2001 World Championships in Lahti silver with the team on the normal hill and the large hill at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City Silver with the team and at the World Cup. In the 2000 /01 season, he was third in the overall World Cup and in the ski flying World Cup, to February 2006, he won two World Cup victories.

On 23 November 2007, shortly before the start of the new season, Jussilainen declared for bad training results in the summer of his retirement from competitive sports.
