River Cess

Cestos City, and River Cess is a city in Liberia. It is the capital of River Cess County.

The city is located on the Cestos Bay to the mouth of the Cestos River into the Atlantic Ocean and is located about 160 kilometers southeast of Monrovia. In the resort are located next to the district administration also some processing companies for fish products and canned goods. The town has about 2578 inhabitants.

Today's River Cess County from 1887 was part of the Grand Bassa County, the first administrative center was Timbo City. From 1912 to 1955, the territory was administered as River Cess Territory, it was the administration in the coastal town of River Cess City - postponed today Cestos City. From the population a territorial and administrative reform for Liberia in 1976 was required, it was the River Cess County formed.
