The River Clare ( Irish: Abhainn an Chláir ) is a 85 km long river in the west of Ireland.
The River Clare rises in Ballyhaunis in the east of County Mayo and flows from there for most of its course through the county Galway, first in the south, from the height of Clare Galway, which lies on its banks, already in a westerly direction to the Lough Corrib. From there it flows over the River Corrib in Galway Bay.
Part of the River Clare is a former Turlough ( karst ).
