The River Hindburn arises north of Whitehill from the confluence of Dale Beck, Middle Gill and Withray Beck, arising at its northern slope in the Forest of Bowland. The river flows in a northerly direction. In Wray Roeburn the River empties into the River Hindburn, the east of Hornby leads then to the River Wenning.
