River Isla, Perthshire

The Isla is a river that is formed at the boundary of the Scottish Unitary Authority's Angus and Perth and Kinross by the confluence of the mountain streams Caenlochan Burn and Burn Canness on the slopes of the Grampians to about 945 m altitude.

To the level of Auchintaple hole that happens Isla few hundred meters to the west, the river runs in a southerly direction. Then he turns off to the southeast and follow for a few kilometers of B951, which connects with the A93 Kirriemuir. About two kilometers south of Loch of Lintrathen the flow direction changes gradually to the southwest.
