The River Piddle ( well Trent ) is a river in Dorset, England. The river arises in Alton Pancras, whose Anglo-Saxon name Awultune, place at the source of the river ' ( River Piddle ) means. The Piddle flowing south or south-easterly direction while following essentially the slightly more southerly River Frome, in the estuary it flows east of Wareham in Wareham Channel of Poole Harbour. The River Piddle making it one of the rivers that have contributed their leaching to form the Poole Harbour.

The River Piddle touched a number of small communities. The names of the places Puddletown, Tolpuddle, Piddlehinton, Piddletrenthide, Affpuddle, Briantspuddle, Turnerspuddle are all in connection with the river, whose name was partly to puddle ' reshaped.
