Rivista Storica Italiana

The Rivista Italiana is founded in 1884 Storica Italian history academic journal. Italiane SpA of the Edizioni Scientifiche is published in Turin. It is dedicated to all periods from antiquity to the present day and is principally designed global history. Nevertheless, it has a European focus, if not an Italian.

The Rivista appeared until 1891 in three volumes each in spring, summer and winter. Since then, she also appears in the fall, ie, in four fascicles.

From 1884 to 1895 the outline of each issue saw Memorie, Recensioni, Score bibliografiche, Elenco di libri, spoglio di periodici etc. before. With the new series ( nuova serie ) quartering in Recensioni e note bibliografiche, spoglio dei periodici, Elenco dei libri and Notizie has been introduced.

The numbering of the volumes was quite confusing by introducing new series temporarily. Band 13-18 seemed so even under water. nuova, v. 1-6; Vol 19-25 under water. 3a, v. 1-7; Vol 26-39 under water. 4a, v. 1-14; Vol 40-46 under water. 5a, v. 1-7; Vol 48-52 under water. 4a, v. 2-6, Vol 56-57 under water. 5a, v. 4-5. Therefore, as the name of the band from 1908 looked like this: "Volume XXV (VII della 3a series) " And it came up " fasc. " As an abbreviation for Fascicolo, bringing the partial volumes ( books, fascicles ) are referred to.

1892 originated with the studies Storici in Pisa a sophisticated journal that wanted to build with views of the German press, especially the Historical magazine, founded in 1859, with international standards. Long before the First World War, the Rivista was, however, as little relevant. She was soon on the ideas Pasqule Villaris († 1917) dominates, whose pupil, as Gaetano Salvemini, often appeared in the employee list. After the war there were 1920 to debates about the social history, but these were canceled with the victory of the fascists.

Under Mussolini's fascists, the magazine was in 1923 by the " Istituto di cultura fascista di Torino " issued from 1935 to 1942 by the Giunta centrale per gli studi storici. The annual band in 1942 was published in Milan by the Istituto per gli studi di politica internazionale.

After the Second World War, the RSI 1948 - after five years of interruption - refounded. It was conducted in the years 1950-1959 by Federico Chabod and 1959-1994 by Franco Venturi and through collaboration with numerous scientists to one of the leading journals in Italy.

He was responsible for the clandestine Partito d' Azione pressure of the blade, which was distributed to the group Giustizia e Libertà, who had followers all over Italy. 1947, the Journal of a his appearance. At times, worked at the Italian Embassy in Moscow, he was appointed to the universities of Cagliari and Pisa, 1958 went to Turin, where he taught until 1984.
