RK 03 Berlin
The Rugby Club Berlin 03 (RK 03 Berlin) is a Berlin rugby club with 250 members. The club went from the Postsportverein Berlin ( Post SV Berlin today Pro Sport Berlin 24) out of the Rugby department in 2003 broke up for financial reasons. In the time before liberation, the club played first class and was twice runner-up in the GDR.
History
1967 saw the establishment of the Section rugby at the ESR Post Berlin. The club plays since its inception in Buschallee Stadium in Berlin -Weissensee. 1967-1978 was the participation in the GDR and championship round games against international teams. 1978 was followed by the beginning of the consistent youth development. In the 2009/2010 season Philip " Lofty " Stevenson coached the first team. Stevenson was previously involved with as a coach SC 1880 Frankfurt, and as coach of the German 7- Men and U21 XVer team.
In June 2013, the Berlin Sevens the RK 03 Berlin hosted for the first time, a 7- rugby tournament with international participation. The tournament served as both an open National Association championship. The organization by the club was perfect, with titles of Rugby Association Baden- Württemberg and Hesse Rugby Federation of it.
Players and coaches
The association currently represents 3 national player for the German national team, as well as four national player for the German national team 7 Series.
The current coach and sporting director is Christian Lill, which at the same German U18 national team coach is.
