RK Lovćen

RK Lovćen Cetinje ( Rukometni club Lovćen Cetinje ) is a Montenegrin handball club from Cetinje.

History

The club was founded in 1949. Quickly, the club became the flagship of the Montenegrin handball and representatives throughout the region; in the Yugoslav league but it had always been difficult, the club behind the capital club Red Star Belgrade RK and RK Partizan Belgrad. It was not until the turn of the millennium, the club celebrated its national breakthrough: In the 1997/98 season was one second in the championship and was in the Cup final. Followed in 2000 the first championship, 2001, the Double. In the following years, belonged to the club for top national and qualified regularly for the European Cup.

After the independence of Montenegro in 2006, the club played in the Montenegrin league and was promptly champion and cup winner. In 2007, she lost in the EHF Cup in the first round against the club from Luxembourg Dudelange with 30:30 and 34:35. So you missed a second-round match against Madeira from Portugal.
