Robert Barron (priest)

Robert Barron ( born November 19, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois ) is a Roman Catholic priest, writer and preacher from Chicago. Robert Barron founded 2000 Word on Fire Catholic Ministries, a non- profit organization.

Life

Robert Barron studied philosophy at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, then Catholic theology at the Catholic University of St. Mary of the Lake in Chicago. In 1986 he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago. He then completed at the Institut Catholique de Paris a doctorate degree and in 1992 with the thesis on Thomas Aquinas Doctor Theologiae ( Dr. theol. ) Doctorate.

Since 1992 he is professor for Catholic Theology at the Theological Faculty of the University of St. Mary of the Lake.

Robert Barron is a book author and has written several books on theological topics. He also has a Sunday radio program entitled " Word on Fire" directed. From 2010 he has worked in television. Barron themed contemporary trends in cinema, literature, art and philosophy, and refers to non-Christian authors such as Bob Dylan and Keith Richards.
