Robert Burks

Robert Burks ( born July 4, 1909 in Chino, California, † May 13, 1968 in Newport Beach, California, in a house fire ) was an American cinematographer.

Life

He was involved in more than 40 films, including times, involved in 12 to 14 years for Alfred Hitchcock. For the film, Over the roofs of Nice, he was awarded the Oscar for best color film. His career in film began in 1944 when he worked as a cameraman for the music short film Jammin 'the Blues. The first collaboration with Hitchcock took place in 1951 with the film Strangers on a train.
