Robert Clohessy

Robert Clohessy (* June 10, 1957 or 1958 in New York ) is an American actor.

Life

Clohessy occurred from the mid- 1980s on in television series such as Hill Street Blues, Ohara and One of the Boys. Later numerous supporting roles followed in television and movies.

He became known in 1999 for his role as a prison guard Sean Murphy on the HBO television series Oz - hell behind bars, which he played until 2003 in 38 episodes. In 2009, he appeared in the independent film The Crimson Mask, for which he also served as executive producer. For his role in The Crimson Mask Clohessy was awarded at the Long Iceland International Film Expo 2009 as Best Actor in a Dramatic Feature and the Hoboken International Film Festival in 2009 as Best Supporting Actor. As of 2010, he took roles in the television series Boardwalk Empire and Blue Bloods - Crime Scene New York.

In 2012, he starred in short but succinct supporting roles in the comic book adaptation The Avengers and the drama The Place Beyond the Pines.
