Robert D. Hales

Robert Dean Hales ( born August 24, 1932 in New York City ) is an apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints since 1994 and member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

Life

Throat grew up in New York City on the youngest of three siblings. He studied at the University of Utah. After graduating in 1954, he served for three and a half years in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot. He then took up his studies again and attended Harvard University, where in 1960 he received a Master of Business Administration.

Halse was an active church member. So it was not surprising that he was finally appointed on 4 April 1975 Assistant to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. In 1976 he moved to the First Quorum of the Seventy. In addition, he was from 1978 to 1979 president of the England London Mission. From April 1985 to April 1994 he was Presiding Bishop of the Church. On April 2, 1994 jibe by Ezra Taft Benson to the Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was appointed and thereby entered into the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, where he replaced the departed in February 1994 Apostle Marvin J. Ashton.

Halse is married since 1953 and has two sons.
