Robert Earl Jones

Robert Earl Jones ( born February 3, 1910 in Senatobia, Mississippi, USA, † 7 September 2006 in Englewood, New Jersey, USA ) was an American actor. He was the father of actor James Earl Jones.

Life and career

He dropped out of school early in order to lease a farm and later working for the railroad. After he became unemployed during the Great Depression, he began to eke out as a boxer and in 1937 was, among other sparring partner of the boxing world champion Joe Louis.

His acting career began in 1939 with Robert Earl Jones a few small roles in film and television. In the 1960s, he made a name for himself in the theater and entered into many pieces next to his son James Earl Jones.

In 1973, he starred in the award- seven Oscars hit movie The Sting and entered 1983 with Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd in the comedy Trading Places on. In 1985, he played a small supporting role in Witness with Harrison Ford His last film appearance he graduated in 1992 alongside Jeff Daniels and Ming -Na in the drama Silent Rain.

Robert Earl Jones was married several times. He made headlines when he at the age of 86 years once the New York City Marathon marched with 1996. On September 7, 2006, he died a natural death.
