Robert Easton (actor)

Robert Easton Burke ( born November 30, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, † December 16, 2011 in Toluca Lake, California ) was an American actor and dialect coach.

Life

Robert Easton Burke was the son of Mary Easton, born Kloes, and John Edward Burke. At the age of seven, his parents divorced and he moved to San Antonio, Texas with his mother. Later he took his last name Burke to get stronger to distance himself from his father. In 1945 he debuted as a drama player in the radio show Quiz Kid. Later he studied at the University of Texas. His film debut was in the 1949 Easton appeared and directed by William Castle thriller Deadly suction at the side of John Russell and Dorothy Hart.

During his childhood he suffered from stuttering and he found it easier to speak other dialects as his own. Therefore, he was interested in has always been strong for phonetics. To this end, he studied at University College London. Later, he was frequently engaged as a dialect coach. He was hired by many well-known actors played their accents. So he helped Al Pacino with his Cuban accent for Scarface, Robert Duvall with a Virginia dialect for Gods and Generals and Arnold Schwarzenegger for his Russian dialect for his role in Red Heat. He also helped Forest Whitaker for his Oscar-winning and Golden Globe Award Presentation in The Last King of Scotland - In the clutches of power with his Ugandan dialect. Later he also taught at UCLA and the University of Southern California.

Easton was married March 18, 1961 until her death on 2 April 2005 with the Englishwoman June Bettine Grimstead. Both had a daughter.
