Robert Gilpin

Robert Gilpin ( born 1930 ) is an American political scientist and is considered one of the main representatives of the international political economy of non- Marxist perspective.

Life

Since the early sixties, he worked at Princeton University. His interests include international relations, particularly in Europe and Asia.

Gilpin is based on a realistic, state-centered approach and describes the tension of world politics and global economics. He starts from the primacy of the high politics of the interdependent world economy. Institutions are an instrument of the State, no effective autonomous organizations.
