Robert Hughes (swimmer)

Robert " Bob" Earl Hughes ( * December 15, 1930 in Lennox, California, † October 11, 2012 ) was an American water polo player and swimmer.

Hughes in 1952 and 1956, two -time Olympian. At the Summer Olympics in Helsinki in 1952 he took part in water polo tournament and reached the U.S. national team to fourth place. It was used in all nine games. Four years later at the Summer Games in Melbourne, he reached with the U.S. team 5th place and played five games during the tournament. In addition, he appeared in competition at over 200 meters breaststroke, left there but already in the run- off.
