Robert Lawrence (film editor)

Robert Lawrence (born 9 November 1913 in Montreal, Quebec; † 19 September 2004 in Madison, Wisconsin) was a Canadian cutter.

Life

Lawrence began his career as an editor in the early 1950s. Until 1987 he was involved in 27 productions.

1961 Lawrence was nominated for an historical film Spartacus for the Academy Award for Best Editing.

For the film Fiddler on the Roof, he was nominated along with Antony Gibbs 1972 Eddie Award. In addition, they received a nomination for the BAFTA Film Award.

His last production was rent-a- cop from the year 1987.
