Robert Lewandowski ( born August 21, 1988 in Warsaw, Poland) is a Polish football player who is under contract at the Bundesliga Borussia Dortmund since the 2010/11 season.

Career

Beginnings in Poland

Lewandowski comes from a sports-loving family. Father Krzysztof and mother Iwona were competitive athletes. While his father was a judoka European Champion Junior, his mother played in the highest Polish volleyball league. Both studied sports and worked according to the active sporting career as a sports teacher.

Robert Lewandowski began with eight years at Partyzant Leszno to play soccer and was then seven years active in the youth department of Varsovia Warsaw. In 2005 he first played in the fourth division Delta Warsaw before moving to local rivals Legia Warsaw and came for the second team in the 2nd league for use. Borussia Dortmund
