Robert M. Isaac

Robert Michael Isaac ( born January 27, 1928 in Colorado Springs; † 2 May 2008) was an American Republican politician and served from 1979 until January 17, 1997 the mayor of his native city.

Isaac was born in 1928 the son of a Lebanese immigrant. He grew up in Colorado Springs. Later he attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and studied at the University of Southern California. 1962 Isaac returned back to Colorado Springs. In 1975 he was elected to the city council and four years later, in the office of mayor. After he won the next four elections for himself, Isaac came back in 1997, two years before the end of his term in office.

During his tenure as mayor October 1994, the Colorado Springs Airport was opened. In his honor, a terminal was in 2002 named after Isaac.

Isaac was married and divorced three times. From his marriages produced five children.
