Robert Muchamore

Robert Kilgore Muchamore ( born December 26, 1972 in Tufnell Park London, England ) is a British author who writes the youth series Top Secret or cherub.

Life

Muchamore was known as the author of the novel cycle of Top Secret - novels, after he had fallen out with his employer and gave up his job as a private investigator. As a result, he devoted himself to his work as an author. To date (2013 ) he wrote a total of 17 books.

Muchamore is known for his two book series Cherub and Henderson Boys. The German translation of Cherub is marketed under the name Top Secret.

Top Secret

The novels describe the lives of James Adams, a member of CHERUB - a secret division of the British Secret Service MI5. The organization recruited mostly orphans and trains them to agents. Once they go through this training, they are sent to missions around the world to uncover criminal organizations. The success lies in the fact that the criminals do not expect the new school friend of her son to hack into the computer or installed bugs in the house.

Due to an error by the publisher ( Hodder ) 350 copies of the book were Man VS Beast ( The Mission ) published around 1-2 months early in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Henderson Boys

Henderson Boys is a series of books by Robert Muchamore to the previous seven books have been published. Henderson Boys is published by Hodder Children 's Books.

The book series is about an organization of the active Charles Henderson, as it existed in World War II, who was then also trained children to agents.

Other books

The book Home - a single book by Robert Muchamore - has been rejected by all youth book publishers, as it is too brutal. It's about child soldiers in the jungles of the Congo and is available as an online version.

The CHERUB series is laid in New Zealand, Australia and the UK by Hodder Children 's Books and Simon & Schuster in the U.S.. The German books appear under the cbt Publishing and The Recruit was published in Russian by Egmont Publishing in late 2005. In Thailand, the series had its 2006 launch.

Prizes and awards

The first book of Robert Muchamore, CHERUB: The Recruit ( German: The agent ) was awarded the 2005 Red House Children's Book of the Year Award (youth book of the year ). In addition, the series has received some 10 other awards.

Adaptation

In January 2007, the production company Jigsaw has acquired the film rights. The film Cherub should be turned in 2010, but has not yet been published to date ( August 2013 ). Director Christopher Smith.
