Robert Russell (English actor)

Robert Russell ( born May 24, 1936 in Kent, † 12 May, 2008 Maidenhead, Berkshire ) was an English actor.

Biography

Russell was born in Kent, but spent his childhood until the age of eleven years in South Africa. After his education, he worked in a gold mine. After his return to England he enjoyed a drama at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art

After several roles at the Royal National Theatre, among other things, on the side of Laurence Olivier and Michael Gambon, he joined in 1960 more on British television. He had his most famous role on the side of Vincent Price in the film The Witch Hunter. There he played the assistant to the wrong witch hunter. Other small roles he had in Inspector Clouseau, Othello ( starring Laurence Olivier and Maggie Smith) and Mephisto 68

He appeared in numerous series such as The Avengers and melon, Moonbase Alpha 1 and Doctor Who. In 1993 he played his last film role in the Canadian feature film Strange Horizons.

With 71 years he died of a heart attack in Avoid Head, Berkshire.
